Pharaoh Hound

The pharaoh Hound is an ancient dog breed who has modified very little since his development over 5,000 years ago. He was the dog of kings and will have hunted gazelles with pharaohs, hence his name. This loyal hunting companion later made his way to Malta, wherever he’s currently the national dog

The pharaoh Hound has an outstanding personality characterized by an immense joy of life. Intelligent and affectionate, he takes life as it comes and enjoys clowning for his individuals.

As with any hound, he has moments of aloofness and can be strong-willed. but in the main, he is a delicate dog who gets along well with others, as well as children and other dogs. He loves human companionship and can hunt down affection and attention from his people while still maintaining his independence.

One of his most endearing traits is his ability to blush. you’ll spot a deep rose color on his nose and ears when he is excited, happy, or enjoy some warmheartedness. many homeowners can train their pharaoh Hounds to smile. Since this fun-loving breed enjoys smiling so much, it’s not a tough trick to teach.

While he is too friendly to serve as a guard dog, the pharaoh Hound can bark to alert you to anyone or something that appears suspicious. unfortunately, a lot of things look suspicious to a pharaoh Hound. He’ll also bark if he is left alone for too long or when he is bored, so it is best not to leave him alone for long periods.
