Chow Chow

This distinctive-looking  puppy breed has a proud, independent spirit that some describe as catlike. He can be unapproachable — in case you’re searching for a snuggle mate, this presumably isn’t the best breed for you — and downright suspicious of strangers. But for the right person, he’s a fiercely loyal companion.

With his deep-set eyes and large head, complemented by a mane of hair, the (Chow for short) is an impressive-looking dog. His looks may make you believe he’s mean or surly, however a very much reared and all around raised Chow isn’t forceful.

Rather, it’s said that the Chow consolidates the respectability of a lion, the joke of a panda, the advance of a teddy bear, the effortlessness and freedom of a feline, and the steadfastness and commitment of a canine. He’s additionally noble and reserved, as befits a breed that was once kept in supreme Chinese pet hotels.

He’s not really fond of being hugged or fussed over, but he’ll be a quiet, attentive companion to his favorite person, and his loyalty extends to other family members. In the event that he’s brought up with kids, he’ll acknowledge them energetically, yet he’s not the kind of puppy to endure misuse, so he’s best for homes with more established children who know how to treat pooches. Chow Chows are very independent and aloof, and they need an owner who appreciates those traits but won’t let the dog take over.

If he has lots of positive encounters with strangers during his impressionable puppyhood, he’ll handle strangers with equanimity.  This is, in any case, an exceptionally regional and defensive breed, who’ll give an unmistakable cautioning to anybody drawing nearer without his individual’s welcome.
